NAN Newark Tech World is 1 of 6 21st Century NAN Locations established in (New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Compton California) via the leadership of the National Action Network NAN Newark Tech World focuses on basic literacy, intermediate and advanced computer skills, coding, routing, switching, and networking IT skills.
About the Newark Center
Located at 400 Hawthorne Avenue in Newark, NAN Newark Tech World is established as a non-profit transformational IT skills and training center dedicated to enhancing IT skills for residents of the City of Newark. Free to all program participants, NAN Newark Tech World is powered by technology, manufactured and engineered by Panasonic North America. NAN Newark Tech World is a certified Cisco training academy and will offer courses in web design, mobile app, routing, switching, graphic design, digital literacy, networking, Coding, S.T.E.M., S.T.E.A.M., Computer Science and more.
Our Mission
NAN Newark Tech World was created as a tech sector hub to train Newark residents for high-paying jobs in the information technology industry. NAN NewarkTech World has positioned itself as the go-to organization to aid in the preparation of hard-to-serve Newark residents in receiving the 21st century IT skills to secure jobs.
Our Approach
NAN Newark Tech World is a collaboration of various local stakeholders responding to the White House’s bold initiative and call to action to up-skill Americans and to rapidly train workers for a well-paying tech job, often in just a few months. In Partnership with Newark’s honorable Mayor Ras J. Baraka, NAN Newark Tech World, is also being launched to extend the current efforts of Mayor Baraka’s Office to empower Newark residents and meet the talent needs of local businesses. Employers across the United States are in critical need of talent with the requisite IT skills.
